Centennial Trail on The Great Trail, Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba

The remote backcountry trail, created by Boy Scouts over 50 years ago, has had a physical water barrier for many years. We worked with Sustainable Development to explore opportunities for a series of bridges or alternative crossing points for this trail. When two arched bridges from King’s Park in Winnipeg were removed, we jumped at the chance to repurpose the structures. {A tale of two bridges} Little Bluestem acquired permits, completed project management and payment certification for the design build; working with Fort Richmond Construction/Pier Solutions and Morrison Hershfield to execute the helicopter drop into the remote wilderness trail.
